J&K LG hands over Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak to Martyr’s father

Srinagar (IANS). Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday presented Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, a citation and a check to Ghulam Mohammad Dar, father of martyred civilian Mohammad Umar Dar, at Raj Bhavan.

Mohammad Umar Dar was awarded Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak (posthumously) by President Draupadi Murmu.

On March 26, 2022, Mohd Umar Dar and his brother Ishfaq Ahmed Dar, who were serving as SPOs in Jammu and Kashmir Police, were killed by terrorists inside their house in Chattabugh Budgam.

“The Lt Governor paid tributes to Mohammad Umar Dar and saluted the exemplary courage shown by him in saving the lives of his family members,” the official said in the statement.

“Lt Gen Rajeev Ghai, GOC 15 Corps and family members of Mohd Umar Dar were also present.”
