Judicial remand of Aseem Das and constable Bhim Singh extended
Raipur. The judicial remand of accused Aseem Das and police constable Bhim Singh, arrested in the online betting app case in Chhattisgarh, has been extended till December 1. Earlier, both of them were sent to jail till 24 November. ED presented both of them in the special court of Raipur on Friday. After hearing both the sides, the court refused to grant any relief. A bail petition has been filed by Bhima on December 1, which will be heard.
Investigation so far has revealed that accused policeman Bhim’s two brothers, Sahdev and Arjun, also work in the police. Both of them also remained associated with this gang. Were working for bookies by taking commission. It is reported that the application for anticipatory bail on behalf of both of them can be given in the court. Earlier too, an investigation was conducted against Sahdev regarding online betting and he was suspended by the then SP Abhishek Pallav. At present ED is searching for these two also.
ED had arrested Asim Das from Raipur on November 2 after recovering Rs 5 crore 39 lakh from him. His fellow constable Bhim Singh Yadav was also presented by ED in the special court of Raipur at 5 pm on November 3. Since then both are in jail. Both of them are accused of working together with absconding Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal in the betting case in Dubai. Aseem Das is a driver by profession. ED suspects that the money found from his house is from an online betting app, which was kept to be spent in the elections. On November 2, ED officials broke the lock of Aseem Das’s house and entered his house to take action.
Along with this, Aseem Das was arrested from a hotel in Raipur. While taking action, Rs 3.12 crore was seized from the hotel room and vehicle. ED lawyer said that Bhim Singh Yadav is a constable in Supela police. We had received information that he had gone to Dubai three times. During two visits he also met the promoters of Mahadev App. His booking was also done by these people. Apart from this, the money that came was also being distributed to political parties at the time of elections.
