Junagadh Municipal Corporation will make noise to collect tax of Rs 122 crore from more than 5000 defaulters
Junagadh: Junagadh Municipal Corporation will start the process of taking action against defaulters of the municipality from December 15. Junagadh Municipal Corporation has tax outstanding of more than Rs 122 crore as against more than Rs 5500 outstanding due on Junagadh Municipal Corporation during the last financial years. The tax amount will be collected from all these defaulters after next 15th December by the officials of Junagadh Municipal Corporation by beating the houses and business units of each defaulter. The tax is paid by the people coming to that authority area. Although most of these facilities have been provided, some defaulters of Junagadh have not paid taxes worth crores during the last years, which has adversely affected the exchequer of Junagadh Municipal Corporation.
Till now, tax of Rs 30.12 crore has been deposited, but tax of Rs 122 crore is still outstanding, for which Municipal Corporation is being strict. Notice to defaulters: Notice has been issued to more than 5500 defaulters. The outstanding amount of tax amount has increased in Junagadh Municipal Corporation, the outstanding amount of more than Rs 25 thousand on the defaulters. To recover this, the corporation has started the scheme of playing Dhandero.
Municipal Corporation had earlier announced the scheme: Junagadh Municipal Corporation has also started many schemes for the defaulters. All of which schemes are currently underway. Junagadh Corporation has also implemented the scheme of interest waiver and simple installments of excess tax amount for all those taxpayers who are not able to repay this amount in one go and for those taxpayers whose amount is in excess. However, since Rs 122 crore tax is still outstanding, the Municipal Corporation has started a new operation. Permanent Chairman gave information: Haresh Parsana, Chairman of the Standing Committee of Junagadh Municipal Corporation, while giving information about the outstanding tax amount, said that the amount will be collected by the Municipal Corporation employees from about 5500 outstanding amount in the coming days by raising slogans. A recovery plan was made. Dhera was considered very important even in the early period of the kingdoms.
