Kanker police will interrogate Naxalite carrying reward of Rs 80 lakh
Kanker: A month ago, ATS of Madhya Pradesh had arrested a Naxalite carrying a reward of Rs 80 lakh who had come to Jabalpur for treatment. The Naxalite arrested by ATS was identified as DKSZC member Ashok Reddy alias Baldev. After which he was sent to Jabalpur jail on judicial remand. A crime has been registered against the arrested Naxalite in Kanker police station. Due to which Kanker Police has brought him to Kanker for questioning.
A crime has been registered against the arrested Naxalite in Chhotabethiya police station of Kanker. This crime was registered after the encounter in Binagunda. Due to this, the police took a production warrant from Kanker Court and reached Jabalpur Jail. The Naxalite was taken on transit remand from Jabalpur jail and brought to Kanker on 15 September and presented in the Kanker court. From where he has been handed over to Pakhanjur SDOP in police remand till 20th September. Kanker police will interrogate the Naxalite till 20th September. In this interrogation, Kanker police can get many important information related to Naxalites.
There was an encounter between security forces and Naxalites on June 12 in village Binagunda of Chhotabethiya police station area of Kanker. During the search, the body of a uniformed female Maoist was recovered. The soldiers also recovered 303 rifles and other material. Then Maoist Baldev and his other 30 to 35 Naxalites fled from the spot. During the search, the police found 11 live 303 cartridges, ammunition of daily use and two spectacles. After the encounter in Binagunda on June 12, the police had claimed that out of the two spectacles found at the encounter site, one belonged to Baldev i.e. Ashok Reddy and the other belonged to Vijay Reddy.
