Kargil Vijay Diwas will be celebrated on 26 July
Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated to remember and honor the courage and sacrifice of Indian soldiers. In 1999, the Kargil war took place between India and Pakistan. In the war that lasted for 60 days, many bravehearts of the state had soured the enemy’s teeth by showing their indomitable courage. India had badly defeated Pakistan in this war. This victory of India is celebrated as Kargil Vijay Diwas on 26 July. District Sainik Welfare Officer Col. Anil Kumar Punian said that on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, a ceremony will be organized by offering wreaths to the martyrs at Martyr’s Memorial Jhunjhunu at 9 am on July 26. He has appealed to the ex-servicemen and general public of the district to participate in the above program as much as possible.
