Karnataka: Livelihood project launched for the disabled

Karnataka: Swami Japnandji, President of Ramakrishna Sevashram, said that livelihood schemes for the disabled are helpful in making them self-reliant.
He spoke at the launch of a livelihood project for the disabled in the city on Wednesday, a joint venture between the Swami Vivekananda Integrated Rural Health Center, Cheshire Disability Trust, and Azure Power India.
Those who register for this project will receive free training and meals at the Sharada Devi Vision Management Institute. Computer training has also been arranged, he said.
Many disabled people are already receiving training. He said that six people have already graduated from the Sharada Devi Drishti Nirvahan Sanstha and have reached the next level.
Anuradha Patil, CEO of the Cheshire Disability Trust, said that this project can make the lives of people with disabilities easier.
Amrit Kumar, CSR Coordinator of Azure Power India, Guy Ravish, Chief Medical Officer of Swami Vivekananda Rural Health Center, G.R. Chandrakala, M.R.W., Melarappa, Director, Department of Social Work Studies and Research, Tumkur University was present.
