Kavya Aggarwal wins UK Deputy High Commissioner’s award for one-day competition

Chandigarh: Kavya Aggarwal has been declared the winner of the UK Deputy High Commissioner for a Day competition. Kavya clinched the title for the North India region, which includes Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Tanya Sood, another talented young woman from Ambala, was adjudged the runner up in the competition. Kavya and Tanya had the unique opportunity to connect with Caroline Rowett, British Deputy High Commissioner to Chandigarh, and other members of the British Deputy High Commission. Her experience extended to Patiala, where she had rich interactions with Punjab Police Constable Gulab Singh Shergill, an ardent supporter of women’s cricket in rural areas, and his enthusiastic group of young women cricketers. Both Kavya and Tanya joined Caroline Rowett for a thought-provoking meeting with Patiala Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni, during which they discussed the topic of women in leadership and exchanged views on promoting women’s rights and empowerment . Kavya Agarwal is currently working as a full-time content marketer, in addition to her role as a teaching volunteer. He completed his BA (Hons) in English from Kalindi College, Delhi University. After completing BA (Hons) in Political Science from Miranda House, University of Delhi, Tanya Sood is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Political Science at Delhi University. The pageant serves as a remarkable platform for young women to raise awareness about girls’ rights and the important role of women in leadership positions.
