Kejriwal should appear before ED like Congress leaders, said Congress’s Sandeep Dixit.

New Delhi: Reacting to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summons to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit suggested that the AAP chief should appear before the ED like Congress leader Sonia Gandhi. Whenever ED called, Rahul Gandhi went.

Dixit told ANI on Saturday, “He should go. Congress President Malikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi went whenever the ED called them. He should also go and present his views before the ED.”
Meanwhile, Delhi Minister Gopal Rai alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wants to stop Arvind Kejriwal from campaigning for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

“Yesterday we had announced the schedule of CM Arvind Kejriwal that he will visit Goa from January 18 to 20 in view of the Lok Sabha elections and today the summons have been issued. This is not a coincidence. This is to stop Arvind Kejriwal from campaigning.” 2024 Lok Sabha elections,” Rai said.

He further said, ‘ED should avoid becoming a frontal organization of BJP and stop sending these illegal notices to Arvind Kejriwal.’ Questioning the timing of ED issuing the fourth summons to the Delhi CM, AAP leader Sushil Gupta asked. That you are going to Goa chief then why summons has been issued now.

Gupta said, “CM Arvind Kejriwal had announced that he is going to Goa to address a public meeting, and now summons have been issued. This is nothing more than stopping Arvind Kejriwal from campaigning for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.” Apart from this, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma took a dig at the Delhi CM and indirectly said that the AAP chief will go to jail permanently.

Biswa said, “If you get four notices from the ED and you are not going, it means you want to go not temporarily but permanently. Wherever he goes, he will go permanently.” The ED issued its fourth summons to the Delhi Chief Minister and asked him to appear before the central probe agency on January 18.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Kejriwal is likely to stay in Goa from January 18-20. Monitor election preparations.

The ED had issued the third summons to CM Kejriwal on December 22 last year in the alleged Delhi liquor scam case, asking him to appear before the agency on January 3. The Delhi CM had earlier been summoned by the ED regarding an excise policy. The Delhi CM was first summoned by the central agency to appear on November 2, but he did not testify, alleging that the notice was “vague, motivated and legally unsustainable”.
