Kerala: Flood alert in three rivers in Thiruvananthapuram after heavy rains
Thiruvananthapuram: Due to heavy rains in Thiruvananthapuram district since the night of October 14, the Central Water Commission has issued a flood warning for three rivers in the state capital. Flood warning has been issued for Karamana, Neyyar and Vamanapuram rivers in the district.
At least 572 people have been kept in 17 relief camps across the district. The weather department has also asked people living on river banks to remain alert as heavy rain has been predicted in Kerala in the next five days.
Kerala Revenue Minister K. Rajan has asked the people of Thiruvananthapuram to remain alert as heavy rains are expected to continue in the next five days. Due to heavy rains, water entered many houses in the district and many areas of the city were submerged.
