Kolkata: Around 1 lakh people chanted the verses of Bhagavad Gita at the prestigious Brigade Parade Ground

Kolkata: In a one-of-a-kind gathering at the Brigade Parade Ground here, around 1 lakh people from various backgrounds collectively chanted the holy verses of the Bhagavad Gita.

Dressed in traditional attire, people from different age groups and social strata gathered at the iconic site and recited verses from the holy book along with the revered saints.

Reflecting on the event, BJP state president Sukant Majumdar commented, “Bhagavad Gita is India’s greatest gift to the world. Those who are making fun of this event have no respect for Hinduism and its traditions.” There is no respect. Those who are trying to do this by dividing Hindus will fail in their efforts.”

Prominent figures from the Bengal BJP unit and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leadership were present, and were actively reciting the verses. Organizers said about 120,000 people had registered to attend the event.
