Kushal, who is returning to TV with ‘Barsaatein’, said- ‘I was looking for a good role’

New Delhi (IANS). Actor Kushal Tandon is making a comeback on TV after six years with the serial ‘Barsaatein’. The actor said that it was not his choice to stay away from the silver screen, but he was looking for something impactful.

‘Barsaatein – Mausam Pyaar Ka’ is a romance drama that follows the confrontation between two headstrong people – Reyaansh Lamba (played by Kushal) and Aradhana Sahni (played by Shivangi Joshi).

Kushal as Reyansh is a man with a heartbreaker personality while Shivangi as Aradhana is a determined and ambitious young woman with a passion for journalism. Over time, Aradhana gets attracted to Reyansh and thus begins their turbulent love story.

On what made him say yes to the show, Kushal said, “Staying away from the silver screen was not my wish, I was looking for some good and impactful roles. Meanwhile, I was a part of two web series, one Film for OTT platform and also working on my own restaurant project.”

He further said, “When I was busy with all this, then the corona pandemic came. After some time Ekta ma’am contacted me and said that she has a show especially for me. She further said that she has prepared this show. Gaya and best suited for me. I chose this show because it is a beautiful love story, and it is with Sony TV, which is a homecoming for me, because my last show, which I shot with them That was ‘extremely’.”

Talking about his character, Kushal said that it is a mix of several characters he has played earlier.

The 38-year-old actor, who is also trying his hand at production, said: “I have knowledge about production and know what will make a good story. I have hands-on experience in production, and have guided directors many times. Production people know what to do and what not to do, which is beneficial for both. I want to be a producer.”

He further told that on the production front, he is working on the script of a web series.

Barsaatein – Mausam Pyaar Ka will premiere on Monday on Sony Entertainment Television.
