Labor pain occurred in moving train, safe delivery done at Bokaro railway station.
Ranchi (IANS). A female passenger was successfully delivered at Bokaro railway station in Jharkhand on Monday night. The condition of the woman was not such that she could be taken to the hospital for delivery.
Both mother and child are healthy. After delivery she was taken to Bokaro Sadar Hospital.
It was told that Pooja Devi, a resident of Nalanda, Bihar, had boarded the Hatia-Patna Express with her husband Virendra Kumar on Monday night. She started labor pain near Muri between Ranchi and Bokaro. This information was given to the coach attendant. By then the train had started from Muri station.
The attendant informed this to the Bokaro station management. When the train reached Bokaro at around ten in the night, with the help of female security personnel, the pregnant woman was taken down and brought to the RPF assistance booth located at the station.
Railway doctor Dr HP Singh performed a successful delivery with the help of RPF SI Meena Kumari, assistants Meera Kumari, Manisha Kumari and Pinky Dumolia.
The laughter of the newborn echoed on the platform under the supervision of the doctor and there was a smile on the faces of everyone including the mother.
