Lalu Yadav appeared again in CBI courttoday, know what is the matter
Bihar: Today RJD Chief Lalu Yadav once again appeared in the CBI Court in Patna. Let us tell you that the hearing in the case of illegal withdrawal from Bhagalpur Banka treasury was held in Patna CBI court. Accused Lalu Yadav was also summoned by the court to attend the hearing and directed to remain present. Lalu Yadav also appeared in the CBI court on the instructions of the court. Let us tell you that Rs 46 lakh was withdrawn illegally from Bhagalpur-Banka treasury.
Let us tell you that in the fodder scam case RC 63 A1996, RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, former MP Jagdish Sharma, former MP RK Rana and 22 people including officer Beck Julius Phoolchand Singh have been accused of the scam. So far 76 witnesses have been presented by CBI in the case. In the case, CBI has filed a charge sheet against 44 accused including Lalu. Out of 44 accused, 22 have died and the trial against the dead accused has been closed.
Lalu Yadav is on bail after being sentenced. Let us tell you that Lalu Yadav has been sentenced in the Doranda Treasury case of fodder scam. Lalu Yadav is currently out on bail. In such a situation, a production warrant was sought by Lalu Prasad Yadav’s lawyer for his appearance in the ongoing hearing in the CBI court in Patna today. Due to Lalu Yadav’s ill health, he appeared in the court through video conference.
CBI had registered 53 cases. Let us tell you that in 1996, CBI had registered 53 cases in the fodder scam case regarding illegal withdrawal of different amounts from different treasuries. Of the 53 cases, the Doranda treasury case was the biggest. 170 accused are involved in Doranda treasury. Till now, 55 accused have died in the Doranda treasury fodder scam case.
