Land dispute: Case filed against 6 people for kidnapping a person

Nurpur: The Indora police of Nurpur police district have registered a case against the owner of a stone crusher in Barota village and his five unidentified accomplices for abducting and assaulting Varinder Sharma, a resident of Thakurdwara, in a land dispute yesterday evening. According to the police, on the complaint of Varinder Sharma, a case has been registered against crusher owner Teja Singh under sections 329(3), 116(2), 127(2), 134, 140(3) and 191(2) of the Indian Penal Code-2023.

Nurpur DSP Vishal Verma said that the accused had a land dispute with the complainant. Varinder Sharma said that he has obtained a stay order from the court to stop the accused from carrying out mining activities on the concerned land. The complainant said that yesterday afternoon when he was making a video of the alleged act of the crusher owner’s machinery being used for illegal mining on his land, Teja Singh reached the spot with his five accomplices. She alleged that Teja Singh kidnapped her and took her to his stone-crushing factory, where she was assaulted and locked in a room. The DSP said the Indora police have begun investigating the case.
