Lavanya Traders operator arrested

Raipur. CGST and Central Excise, Raipur have arrested Rahul Singhal, operator of M/s Lavanya Traders, Raipur. The accused was produced before the Economic Offenses Court, where the court sent the accused to jail on judicial custody. CGST, Raipur Commissioner Mohd. Abu Sama said that during the investigation, officials of the Fake Invoice Cell of K, found that Rahul Singhal, the operator of M/s Lavanya Traders, Raipur, was taking fake ITC from some fake firms without any underlying supply of goods or services, and was paying the same to various businessmen. Is being distributed, due to which GST evasion is taking place on a large scale.

In this sequence, the team of Fake Invoice Cell raided the premises of Rahul Singhal and searched it. Investigation revealed that Rahul Singhal had transferred fake input tax credit of Rs 6.18 crore through M/s Lavanya Traders without supply of any underlying goods and services and without payment of GST. On this, Rahul Singhal was arrested by the Central GST team on November 5 under the provisions of Section 69(1) of the CGST Act 2017 and presented in the Economic Offenses Court, where the court sent the accused to jail on judicial custody. In the past too, CGST Raipur has taken strict enforcement action against tax evaders, especially taxpayers involved in the business of fake billing.
