Leopard attacked girl, condition critical

Bijnor : On Friday night in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh, a leopard attacked an 18-year-old girl and seriously injured her. On hearing the screams of the girl, the villagers reached the spot, saved the girl and admitted her to the hospital in a critical condition. The girl has deep wounds on her neck and head.

The girl’s father Sanjay Kumar said that his daughter Neelam had gone to get water from the hand pump outside the house. Then the leopard attacked him and tried to take him into the forest, but when people shouted at him, people reached the spot, but the leopard left him and ran away. The incident took place around 8 pm on Friday night on the outskirts of Udaipur village under Rehar police station area of Bijnor district.

The forest officer said that we have installed cages to trap the leopard. Villagers living in the area have also been alerted. It is noteworthy that more than 16 people have lost their lives in leopard attacks in Bijnor district in nine months, while 50 others have been injured.
