Life imprisonment to murder-rape accused
Himachal Pradesh. In the case Government vs Dooni Chand, the court of Additional Sessions Judge Sarkaghat has sentenced the accused Doonichand, son of Harichand village Kalthar Post Office Vahanu Tehsil Sarkaghat to life rigorous imprisonment for the murder and rape of his sister-in-law. , In the rape case, the accused has been sentenced to 10 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000 under Section 376. For non-payment of fine, he was sentenced to additional imprisonment of 6 months. On the charge of murder, the accused has been sentenced to life rigorous imprisonment under Section 302 and a fine of Rs 25,000 has also been imposed.
For non-payment of fine, he has been sentenced to additional imprisonment of 6 months. The accused has been sentenced to 3 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000 under Section 201 on charges of destroying evidence. For non-payment of fine, he has also been sentenced to additional imprisonment of 3 months. Under the Arms Act, the accused was sentenced to 3 months rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000 for using a weapon to commit murder and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further imprisonment of 1 month.
Deputy District Attorney Rajiv Sharma said that in 2015, the accused kidnapped his sister-in-law, took her to the forest and raped her. After this, he was brutally murdered and with the intention of destroying the evidence, he hid the body under a rock in the forest. The blood stained knife and muffler were hidden under the Bhambla bridge. The accused had hidden his blood stained clothes and the purse of the deceased in his room. Deputy District Attorney Rajeev Sharma said that the statements of 28 witnesses in this case were recorded in the court. On the basis of the same testimony, the court has sentenced the accused to rigorous additional imprisonment.
