Liquor shops will remain closed 48 hours before the end of voting

Raipur: Collector and District Magistrate Dr. Sarveshwar Bhure, in view of the voting work going to be held on November 17 under the Assembly Elections 2023, declared dry day 48 hours before the end of voting i.e. from 5 pm on November 15 to November 17 in the said time period. Orders have been given to keep all types of liquor shops etc. closed.

With the aim of conducting the work related to Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections 2023 smoothly and impartially, Chief Electoral Officer Chhattisgarh. As per the instructions of Collector and District Magistrate Dr. Sarveshwar Bhure, Chhattisgarh. Using the powers provided in sub-section (1) of Section 24 of the Excise Act 1915, 48 hours before the end of voting on 17th November at 5 pm, i.e. from 5 pm on 15th November to 17th November, all the natives of the district are declared dry day. Liquor shops, foreign liquor shops, hotel bars, civilian pubs have been ordered to remain completely closed during the said 2 dry period. During the said period, no liquor shop, restaurant, hotel, club and establishments selling and serving liquor will be allowed to sell and serve liquor to any person, whoever he may be.
