Lok Sabha elections: A company of CRPF deployed in Amritsar areas
In view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the police have deployed a company of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in sensitive areas of the city. The Police Commissioner assured the residents of a peaceful election process with foolproof security arrangements.
On the instructions of Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Police Commissionerate Amritsar has increased security arrangements in the city to conduct the Lok Sabha elections in a fair manner.
One company of CRPF has been allotted to Police Commissionerate, Amritsar to create a sense of security among the general public and to conduct peaceful and orderly operations in the city.
Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said, “The Police Commissionerate has got the allocation of one CRPF company. CRPF personnel have been deployed in sensitive areas of various police station areas of the city. City police and CRPF personnel will jointly run special check posts in sensitive areas and check every incoming vehicle and suspicious persons will be stopped and investigated. Police and CRPF also carried out foot patrolling in crowded areas, ensuring the safety of the general public. Commissionerate Police, Amritsar is committed to provide a safe environment in every possible way.
Police Commissioner Bhullar said that a special campaign would be launched against bad elements to create a sense of security among the residents. “The election campaign will be conducted in a peaceful manner. We assure residents of their safety,” the police commissioner said.
