It is very easy to make this recipe. This time when you prepare Lord Ganesha’s favorite modak and laddu, also try the salty and spicy recipe of Jhunka. Let us know the recipe of Jhunka in today’s Recipe of the Day.
Method of making Jhunka-
To make this you need gram flour, so filter it and keep it aside in a plate. Heat a pan, add gram flour and dry roast it for 2-3 minutes. Remove the pan from the flame and keep it aside.
After this, heat a pan on low flame and add ghee in it and let it become medium hot. Now add mustard seeds and cumin seeds and let them splutter. Take care that the cumin seeds do not burn.
Now add 1/2 tsp ginger in it and sauté it well. After this, add finely chopped onion and green chilli (advantages and disadvantages of green chilli) in the pan and stir for 1-2 minutes. Do not fry the onion too much. Just let it become translucent.
When the onion is cooked, add red chili powder and gram flour and fry well. When the aroma starts coming from the gram flour, it means that the gram flour is cooked. While roasting the gram flour, keep the flame on medium and keep stirring continuously.
Add salt to it and mix it well once again and then slowly add water. Also keep stirring the mixture. The gram flour will take about 10 minutes to absorb all the water. After this, cover the lid and cook it on low flame for 4-5 minutes.
Remove the lid and mix the vegetables with a ladle. When its texture starts appearing coarse, then understand that the vegetable is ready. Cook it like this for 5-7 minutes. Add 1 spoon of ghee on top, mix it and then add finely chopped coriander and turn off the flame.
Your gram flour dry vegetable or jhunka is ready. You can make this not only during Ganesh Chaturthi but also at home.
