Loss of Rs 25 lakh due to fire in tent house
Bilaspur: A massive fire broke out in the godown of Janta Tent House located in Bilaspur in the early hours of Sunday. On receiving the information, fire brigade vehicles were busy trying to extinguish the fire. It is suspected that the accident occurred due to short circuit. A loss of Rs 25 lakh is being reported due to this. The matter is of Sarkanda police station area.
According to the information, there is a warehouse of Janta Tent House behind Apollo Hospital located in Lingiadi. The operator had kept a large quantity of goods including clothes, mattresses, chairs, furniture by installing sheds and waterproof tents in the plot. Suddenly smoke started coming out from there at around 4 am on Sunday morning. When people nearby saw, they informed the police. By the time the police and fire brigade arrived the fire had taken a huge form.
The police informed the Municipal Fire Brigade about the accident. However, by the time fire brigade vehicles reached the spot, the fire had taken a severe form. The goods kept in the warehouse were burning. Meanwhile, a crowd of people had gathered nearby. To control the fire, three firefighters were called one after the other. The fire was brought under control after about two hours of effort.
