Lucknow: A vegetable vendor has gifted a clock for the construction of Ram temple, which is designed to tell time in five countries at the same time. Anil Kumar Sahu (52) said he had recently gifted the 75 cm diameter watch to Champat Rai, general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, ahead of the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. He said, “I started working on this watch (75 cm) during Navratri in October and recently gifted one of the watches to Champat Rai ji.” Earlier, these watches were gifted to Khatu Shyam Mandir in Lucknow or Kotwa Dham in Barabanki and Kunteshwar Mahadev. The clock designed by Sahu has become the center of attraction of the vegetable market near Hanneman Cross. The clock tells time in India, Dubai (UAE), Tokyo (Japan), Moscow (Russia), Beijing (China), Singapore, Mexico City (Mexico), Washington DC and New York (E.U.E.). Sahu said he first made the watch in 2018 and the Patent Office of the Government of India granted him a “certificate of registration of the design”.
