The chancellor of a state university in Wisconsin was fired this week after posting an obscene video of himself with his wife online.
UW-La Crosse Chancellor Joe Go, 63, was fired by the Board of Regents on Wednesday after it was recently revealed that he and his wife, Carmen Wilson, posted adult videos on porn sites.
Joe Go has led the University of Wisconsin as Chancellor since 2007 and has served as its longest-serving leader since 1960. His wife, who was working as an aide to the Chancellor, has also been removed.
Go and his wife have made videos together for years, but recently decided to make them public on porn websites, the report said.
Statements were issued by University of Wisconsin President Jay Rothman that such activities by Go had caused significant damage to the university’s reputation.
In a phone interview with the Associated Press (AP), Go revealed that he had never mentioned the university in any of his videos and that his firing violated his freedom of speech. “My wife and I live in a country where we have the First Amendment,” he said.
“We are dealing with consensual adult sexuality. The Regents are overreacting. “They are certainly not following through on their commitments to free speech or the First Amendment.”
