Madhya Pradesh Police Bust Gambling at IAS Officer’s Farmhouse, 18 Held

Bhopal: The police received information that an IAS officer was illegally gambling in a farmhouse. A raid was conducted there. 18 people were arrested for playing poker. Rs. 13.67 lakh in cash, 30 mobile phones and two cars were seized. (IAS Officer’s Farmhouse Raid) This incident took place in Indore district of Madhya Pradesh. The police reached the farmhouse of a senior IAS officer on Wednesday night. The gate was locked from outside, but they reached inside through the back gate after hearing noises from inside.

Meanwhile, the police found that a large-scale poker game was being played in the farmhouse. 18 people were arrested, while five escaped and fled. Rs. 13.67 lakh in cash, playing cards, 30 mobile phones and two cars were seized. The total value of the seized property was found to be Rs. 28.67 lakh.

On the other hand, the police have identified that the farmhouse is registered in the name of Vandana Vaidya, former collector of Shadol district and current managing director of Madhya Pradesh Finance Development Corporation, and her husband Ambarish Vaidya. The police officer said that it is known that the caretaker of the farmhouse, Ranjeet Chaudhary, who has absconded, and Jagdish Rathod alias ‘Uncle’ alias ‘Kubada’ were involved in gambling together. He said that efforts are being made to arrest the five absconding persons. He revealed that further investigation is being carried out in this regard.

Meanwhile, senior IAS officer Vandana Vaidya said that she came to know about the police raid on her farmhouse through social media. She said that the caretaker was running it. She said that she was not aware of any gambling going on here. She explained that she had no connection with the people arrested by the police. She asked the police officials to conduct a fair and impartial investigation into this.
