Maharajganj: UP woman found hanging in in-laws’ house, family alleges murder for dowry
Uttar Pradesh: A 21-year-old woman was found hanging from a noose at her in-laws’ house, police said on Monday. Her family has alleged that she was killed by her husband and his parents over dowry demands. The deceased has been identified as Anjali Yadav, who was married to Ganesh Yadav about three years ago. Police said Anjali was found hanging from a ceiling fan in a room of her in-laws’ house in Nautanwa on Sunday night.
Circle Officer (Nautanwa) Jai Prakash Tripathi said that after receiving the information, a police team reached the spot and the body was sent to a local hospital for post-mortem. He said that Anjali’s parents and relatives have accused her husband and his parents of killing Anjali over dowry demands. The CO said that a case of dowry death has been registered and the matter is being investigated. He said that the cause of death will be clear only after the post-mortem.
