Maharashtra: 5-day-old Found Abandoned Outside Navi Mumbai Hospital
A five-day-old girl child was found abandoned in a bag outside Laxmi Hospital in Maharashtra’s Navi Mumbai. The Koparkhairane police registered a case under Section 317 against an unidentified man who allegedly dumped the newborn in Ghansoli in the early hours of Friday.
The child was abandoned at around 4 a.m. between the premises of Laxmi Hospital and One Life Fitness Hub in Ghansoli, said the police.
Passersby heard the crying sound of the baby and informed the police. The police rushed the child to a hospital for a medical check-up and later shifted to the Child Care Centre in Nerul.
“An offense has been registered and a probe is underway to identify the man who abandoned the baby,” said the official.
Earlier in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida, a newborn baby about 5-6 days old was found in a drain.
According to the people, rats were nibbling on the baby and ended up injuring one of the fingers of his hand and one toe. The police admitted the baby to the super-specialty hospital. The child was rushed to the hospital.
