Mahua was making liquor in the courtyard of the house, police raided

Dhamtari: Superintendent of Police Prashant Thakur has given strict instructions to take action by campaigning against illegal liquor, gambling and betting. In the same sequence, patrolling under Keregaon police station area had gone to the rural area for crime detection. Information was received from the informer that Umesh Kumar Netam of village Patharridih, father Lalu Ram, age 30 years, Sakin Patharridih is selling Mahua liquor by keeping it in the courtyard of his house. On this information, a raid was conducted in the house of Umesh Kumar Netam at the place mentioned by the informer.

Other people in the courtyard adjacent to his house ran away after seeing the police coming. A siege was conducted and one person was arrested. When asked about his name and address, he told his name as Umesh Kumar Netam, father Lalu Ram, age 30 years, resident of Sakin Pathridih police station, Keregaon district Dhamtari. The accused has been duly arrested and sent to judicial remand.
