Main accused arrested in lawyer murder case

Kalaburagi: The main accused in the lawyer murder case in Kalaburagi district headquarters town has been arrested, police said on Sunday.

According to the police, Neelkanth Patil fled from the spot after killing Irangowda Patil in broad daylight near the basement of an apartment on December 7. A camera had recorded the incident which showed the accused chasing the victim.

On Saturday, police said they captured Neelkanth, but did not provide any details. However, a police source said that a property-related issue was a possible reason for the brutal murder.

Advocates in Kalaburagi and several other towns had protested against the killing of Iranagouda Patil.
