Major action on Tehsildar, instructions to pay 25 thousand fine
Raipur. Delay in giving information cost dearly to a tehsildar of Ambikapur. The State Information Commission has ordered a fine of 25 thousand. In fact, on 24/1/2019, an application to provide information under Right to Information was submitted by DK Soni Advocate and RTI activist before Public Information Officer Tehsildar Ambikapur District Surguja Chhattisgarh. In relation to the order dated 28/1/2017 passed in the party Virendra Kumar father Rupnarayan village Balsedi 1-Attested copy of the complete order sheet of the above case.
2- In the above case information was sought regarding the certified copy of all the documents attached to the Patwari report application. In which second appeal case number A/1531/2019 was presented on 6/5/2019 by D.K. Registering the said second appeal, the State Information Commission issued a notice to the then Public Information Officer Bijayendra Singh Sarathi Tehsildar Ambikapur and called for a reply from the then Public Information Officer, but the Public Information Officer did not submit any complete written reply in compliance of the notice. Went and did not appear due to which the State Information Commission, while passing the order in second appeal case number A/1537/2019 on 27/2/2023, Manoj Trivedi, the Information Commissioner of the State Information Commission, while duly hearing, the then Public Information Officer Bijayendra Singh Sarathi Tehsildar Ambikapur was fined Rs.25000/- under section 20(1).
The Sub-Divisional Officer Revenue Ambikapur was directed to deduct the said amount of Rs 25000 from the salary of the then Public Information Officer Tehsildar Ambikapur District Surguja and deposit it in the government’s account and submit the compliance report to the State Information Commission as well as Section 19 (8) of the Act. Under (b), the appellant has been ordered to provide an amount of Rs.500/- as compensation from the then Public Information Officer.
