Man arrested for duping people of crores of rupees by taking loan from Chinese app
Noida: Noida Police has arrested a wanted accused who used to cheat crores of rupees by taking data of people through Chinese app to get them loans and blackmailing the loan takers. The accused was wanted for many days. The police had also placed a reward on him.
It is said that on August 7, Sector-63 police station arrested Siddharth Ojha, an accused wanted in the Gangster Act, who used to operate a fake call center along with other accused of his gang. He used to cheat crores of rupees in the name of getting loans by collecting data of people through Chinese loan app.
This accused was arrested by Sector-63 police station of Noida in the year 2022 and sent to jail. A case was also registered against him under the Gangster Act. He was continuously absconding. Noida Police had announced a reward of Rs 5,000 on him.
Police said that the accused along with other accused used to operate a fake call center and do collection work for Chinese loan apps. He used to call on the victims’ WhatsApp numbers as per the data received daily from the Chinese loan app.
The accused used to charge 1.5 times more money than the loan amount from the loan takers. He used to send objectionable photos and messages on the victims’ WhatsApp. He also used to harass the victim’s family members and friends for not paying the money.
