Man arrested for ‘provocative’ social media post on blast
Kerala. Kerala Police on Monday arrested a 44-year-old Kozhencherry native from Kakkanad in Ernakulam for allegedly posting communally inflammatory social media posts following the multiple blasts at a prayer conference of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Kalamassery. Pathanamthitta police said those arrested have been identified as Riva Philip.
Following the post on Facebook, the police registered a case against the man under IPC 153 and arrested him. Police said a case has been registered against the SDPI leader after he lodged a police complaint in this regard. The accused person has a job in Kochi and a detailed investigation is being conducted into the incident. At the same time, Riva Philip posted an apology on her Facebook account on Monday evening before her arrest.
