Man dies in tiger attack, half eaten body found
Mananthavady: One person died in a tiger attack in Wayanad’s Walkeri. The deceased has been identified as Prajeesh (36), a native of Kudallur. His brother, who was searching for Prajeesh who had gone to cut grass, found the body. After the incident, forest department officials went to the spot. According to signs and locals, the tiger attacked the victim, took the body and later abandoned it.
The body was found half eaten. This area is forest border area. Local people say that there is presence of other wild animals including tigers here. Responding to this, Forest Minister AK Saseendran said that the death of a person in a tiger attack is a tragic incident. He also clarified that steps will be taken to capture the tiger.
