Man found dead in in-laws’ village, accused of murder
Kantabanji: A man was found dead at his in-laws’ village in Balangir district, reports said on Wednesday. The man was electrocuted to death by his in-laws in Malpada village of Kantabanji area under Bongomunda police station area of Balangir district, reports said.
The deceased youth has been identified as Bansi Thela of Bhaalumunda village. He had reportedly gone to Malpada village where he was allegedly murdered late at night.
According to the information received, Bansi Thela was living in his in-laws’ village for a long time. He had gone fishing with his brother-in-law in a nearby pond.
This morning his body was found floating in the pond. As soon as the local people saw the dead body, they immediately informed the police. Police reached the spot and took the body into custody.
Upon further investigation, the police found out that there was an electrical wire right next to the spot where he was sitting and fishing.
Bansi’s family members allege that an electric wire was laid there deliberately to kill him. A written complaint has been lodged with the police in this regard.
Police have started a detailed investigation of the case, the cause of death will be known after the postmortem report comes.
