Man kills wife over money dispute and throws body in forest
Thane: A 35-year-old man allegedly killed his wife after a money dispute, buried her body in a barrel and dumped it in a forest area, police said on Tuesday. The incident took place on Sunday and the man was arrested on Monday following a complaint by the 32-year-old victim’s family, he said. The couple was married for 12 years and the accused, a resident of Titwala area, often misbehaved with his wife and demanded money from his parents, an official of Kalyan rural commissionerate said. The woman’s family had given Rs 80,000 to the man. He said, he asked for Rs 2 lakh to buy a rickshaw and could not give it. The couple often fought over this and other topics. On Sunday, the man allegedly hit his wife on the head with an iron rod and then strangulated her to death with a rope, the official said. A man killed his mother after a fight over not serving food Then, the man placed the body in a large container, took it in a rickshaw to a forest near Ambernath and left it there, he said. On Monday, the woman’s mother called the man but did not get any response from her daughter. The man said he had killed his daughter and thrown her body in the forest and was in the commissary, the officer said. Based on the information, the local police reached the spot and took possession of the body and sent it to the government hospital for post-mortem. The man was arrested and booked under sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence) of the Indian Penal Code, police said, adding that they are investigating the case.
