Mancherial: 19 spotted deer released in Chennur corridor to feed tigers in Kaval

Mancherial: Forest officials released 19 spotted deer in the Chennur corridor of Mancherial forest range on Wednesday. District Forest Officer Shiva Ashish Singh and Mancherial Forest Divisional Officer Vinay Kumar Sahu released the deer in the corridor for the development of Kaval Tiger Reserve (KTR) as per the directions of Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Mohan Pargain and KTR Area Director S Shantaram.

The Kaval Tiger Reserve in Asifabad has the capacity to house more tigers. Spotted deer rescued from dog attack in Asifabad. Spotted deer skin found in a cashew field in Kothagudem. Officials said the herbivorous animals were meant to feed the tigers living in the reserve. Mancherial Forest Range Officer G Ratnakar Rao, Deputy FRO Sagarika and FBOs were present.
