Mangaluru: Floating bridge inaugurated on Panambur beach
Mangaluru: The newly constructed floating sea bridge at Panambur beach here was inaugurated by Karnataka Assembly Speaker U T Khadar.
This bridge is going to become the new attraction on the beach, where the influx of tourists has been increasing in recent years. It is the second floating bridge in the twin coastal districts, the first being opened at Malpe beach in Udupi.
Kadali Beach Tourism Development Committee, a unit of Bhandari Builders, has constructed the 125 meter long bridge, which was inaugurated on Wednesday.
A total of 12 lifeguards and additional security personnel have been deployed to ensure the safety of tourists. A maximum of 50 people can watch the sunset on the floating bridge.
Khader, in his speech, said he would talk to Tourism Minister HK Patil to give priority to the development of beach tourism.
Beach Development Committee partners Laxmish Bhandari and Rajesh Hukkeri were present.
