Marwar Medical University Bill-2023 passed by voice vote, patients of western Rajasthan will get better medical facilities
Medical and Health Minister Mr. Parsadi Lal Meena said that with the opening of Marwar Medical University in Jodhpur, the patients of western Rajasthan will be able to get better medical facilities near them. Financial sanction of Rs 500 crore has also been issued to open this university.
Mr. Meena was giving his reply after the discussion on the Marwar Medical University Bill-2023 in the Assembly on Thursday. Earlier, Mr. Meena presented the bill in the house for discussion and after discussion the house passed the bill by voice vote. The Medical and Health Minister said that the state government is constantly expanding medical facilities and services in the state by establishing medical colleges. He said that 16 medical colleges have been started during the tenure of the present government and medical colleges will be started in Dausa, Bundi, Karauli, Alwar and Hanumangarh districts this year. Also, the state government is opening medical colleges in three districts- Jalore, Pratapgarh and Rajsamand from its own financial resources.
The Medical and Health Minister said that apart from giving financial approval of Rs 500 crore to make Marwar Medical University operational soon in Jodhpur, posts have also been created. He said that instructions have also been issued for the DPR for the university building. He informed that the department is continuously strengthening the medical system in the state by taking important decisions and the department has recruited 400 assistant professors. At the same time, MBBS seats will also increase from 750 to 3 thousand 230 in the state. He informed that doctors have been appointed at each first aid center and community medical center.
Earlier, the proposal to know the referendum on the bill was rejected by the house by voice vote.
