Masked miscreants looted Rs 1.99 lakh from an elderly man

Bolangir: Masked miscreants looted Rs 1.99 lakh in cash from an elderly man in broad daylight on Friday in Kantabanji of Bolangir district.

According to reports, Sambaru Panika of Dangamara village under Kantabanji police limits withdrew Rs 1.99 lakh from the local branch of SBI and kept it in the trunk of his bike and was returning home.

Panika had proceeded a short distance from the bank when two bike-riding miscreants wearing masks stopped him.

The miscreants riding the bike stopped Panika, opened the trunk and forcibly snatched away the bag full of money.

Panika has lodged a complaint in this regard at Kantabanji police station.

Kantabanji police have started investigating the incident and are examining CCTV footage of nearby shops.
