Mason shot dead
Meerut: A mason was shot dead and his body was hanged from a tree for allegedly demanding wages in Meerut district. In this case, the police took an accused into custody on Thursday.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural Area) Kamlesh Bahadur said that mason Indushekhar, resident of Sadharnapur village of Ichauli police station area, was given the contract for the construction of his house by former head of Dhanpura village of Parikshitgarh, Vijaypal, about two months ago.
During this time, Vijaypal had owed about Rs 2.5 lakhs to Indushekhar, which he had been demanding from Vijaypal for the last several days.
He told that Indushekhar had once again gone to Vijaypal’s house on Wednesday to demand his dues. It is alleged that Vijaypal, on the pretext of taking Indushekhar to the fields, shot him twice and ran away after hanging his body from a tree.
Additional Superintendent of Police said that when Indushekhar’s other associate Sumit called Vijaypal, he confessed to the murder.
According to Dynamite News correspondent, the police have detained an accused in connection with the incident. He is under interrogation.
