Mentally disabled woman gives birth to child in ambulance in Puri

Puri: A mentally disabled woman has given birth to a baby girl in an ambulance in Puri on Friday evening. Both the mother and baby health condition is  stable.

According to reports, On March 3,2023 a mentally disabled woman was rescued by the Sahi Bhai organisation near Malijaga at Puri Badadanda and shifted to Puri District headquarters hospital for treatment.

During treatment she alleged that she was sexually assaulted, the Sahi bhai organisation then claimed for medical examination. Later, when she recovered she was shifted to shelter home in Puri.

Later, after her health condition deteriorated, she was immediately rescued and taken to hospital. On the way to hospital she delivered a baby girl in the ambulance.

Both the new-born baby and the mother have been admitted to the Maternity and pediatrics department at Puri hospital.
