Meteorological Department issues warning as soon as low pressure area develops in Bay of Bengal
Bengal: A low pressure area has formed in the Bay of Bengal. Giving information, the Meteorological Department said that due to the impact of cyclonic circulation of upper air on Andaman-Nicobar Islands, Andaman Sea and surrounding areas of southeast Bay of Bengal, southeast Bay of Bengal and surrounding Andaman-Nicobar Islands. But a low pressure area has formed.
Sharing the post on social media, IMD Bhubaneswar said, the concerned cyclonic circulation extends up to upper tropospheric levels, tilting towards south-west with height.
Giving information, the Meteorological Department said, it is likely to turn into a depression over West Central Bay of Bengal around November 16, 2023. According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall at one or two places in Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Bhadrak and Cuttack districts on November 16.
