Mineral officer waits for collector’s permission to catch sand thieves
Balodabazar. Model code of conduct is in force in the entire country under the Lok Sabha elections. In such a situation, the pressure of political parties on the administration ends. Administrative officers play an active role in curbing illegal activities, but in Balodabazar the mining mafia has become active under the protection of administrative officers.
By colluding with administrative officials, the mafia has once again become active in illegal sand excavation from Mahanadi. The mining mafia is doing business by ripping the chest of Mahanadi, the life giver of Chhattisgarh, passing through Balodabazar, with a chain mountain machine. All this is flourishing under the patronage of the officials of the District Mineral Department and the District Administration.

Sarpanch Firat Netam has applied to the Collector demanding to stop illegal sand mining. Here, when District Mineral Officer KK Banjare wanted to know his side in this whole matter, he refused to say anything and said that he should get permission for action from the Collector. Action will be taken on his orders only. It can be clearly understood from this that how amidst the code of conduct, the mining mafia is getting the support of the administrative officials in straining the chest of Mahanadi.
