Bhubaneswar: Empowering the future of youth with NUA Odisha, Minister for Skill Development and Technical Education (SDTE), Preetiranjan Gharai, held an important preparatory meeting for the upcoming second edition of Odisha Skills Conclave 2024, after the stupendous success of the inaugural edition. presided over. , The meeting held at the World Skills Center saw the participation of Principal Secretary Usha Padhi and key officials of the Department of Skill Development and Technical Education.

The conclave in this edition aims to foster a dynamic ecosystem that empowers youth with relevant skills while aligning with the emerging needs of the job market under the NUA Odisha umbrella.

The Minister outlined the strategic vision of the Skills Conclave stressing the need for a comprehensive and inclusive approach to skill development. It is expected that this conclave will serve as a platform for global exposure as well as to bridge the gap between the needs of academia and industry.

He also expressed commitment to incorporate innovative initiatives in skill development, including integration of emerging technologies and promoting entrepreneurship among the youth. Leading models for skill enhancement are expected to be showcased in this conclave.

Given the diverse landscape of Odisha, the importance of skill development programs to meet the regional needs was discussed in the preparatory meeting. Special attention will be given to areas with high development potential in specific areas of the state.

Skill Conclave is a major initiative of the Department of Skill Development and Technical Education, Government of Odisha.
