Minors die after coming in contact with live wire laid by poachers
Subarnapur: Two minors died of electrocution after they came in contact with an electric wire allegedly laid by poachers in Hatlimunda forest under Ulunda police limits in Subarnapur district.
The minors have been identified as Jeet Dung Dung (14) and Ramesh Bord (14) and were residents of Singhpali village. The incident happened late last night.
Sources say that hunters had laid electric wire in the forest to kill wild animals, when Jeet and Ramesh came in contact with the electric wire and they burnt to death. Jeet’s father Naveen Dungdung went to save both of them, but got injured himself.
Naveen was immediately rescued and taken to Ulunda Hospital for medical assistance.
On receiving information about the incident, Ulunda police reached the spot, took possession of the bodies and sent them for post-mortem and started investigating the matter.
Forest and Police Department have told that the circumstances under which the incident took place will be known after investigation.
