Mira Road case: Family makes a major claim
Maharashtra: The family of Roshan Ramesh Suvarna—a resident of Meghdoot Tower in Saibaba Nagar, Mira Road East—has shared several key details regarding a case involving him. The family stated that Roshan was intoxicated at the time of the incident; he returned home in tears and admitted to the entire sequence of events the following morning.
Roshan Suvarna, who dropped out of his HSC studies, lives with his parents and sister. He is unmarried and currently earns a living through freelance work related to barcodes. His father runs a photocopy shop. According to the family, Roshan consumed alcohol occasionally, but on Tuesday, he was heavily intoxicated.
His 35-year-old brother, Prashant Suvarna, provided details about the incident. He explained that normal life was disrupted that day due to the rain; although Roshan usually travels by AC local trains, he boarded a first-class fast local train that day because he could not book a cab.
According to Prashant, “He was drunk that day. When he returned home, he was crying profusely. We thought he was simply upset due to the intoxication, so we told him to rest, and he went to sleep.”
The family stated that the situation seemed normal that night, but the next morning, once he had sobered up, Roshan confessed the full details of the incident to them. The family said that Roshan later regretted his behavior and recounted exactly what had happened.
Prashant added that while Roshan was generally quiet by nature, his behavior would change after consuming alcohol. He mentioned that the family had never expected him to be involved in such a serious situation.
According to the family, Roshan was deeply distressed mentally after the incident and kept crying. His behavior was abnormal upon his return, and he was unable to compose himself. During this time, the family tried to calm him down and urged him to rest. The family stated that Roshan led a simple life and supported himself through odd jobs. Despite dropping out of school, he tried to help his family by working; the household expenses were also partially met through his father’s photocopy shop.
Following the incident, the matter has become a topic of discussion in the area. Locals are speculating about the events, but the family maintains that the only truth is what Roshan himself has told them.
For now, everyone is awaiting further investigation and official information. The family has stated that they will fully cooperate with the investigating agencies and abide by whatever facts emerge.
