Mobile thief arrested with 19 smartphones
Raigarh. Mobile thief has been arrested with 19 smartphones. According to the information, when the police team interrogated the suspect, he revealed his name as Ajay Rai, a native of Sahibganj (Jharkhand) and currently living in a rented house in Kirori Mal Nagar.
On interrogating Hikmat Amli on the basis of information received from the informer about his involvement in theft activities in the area, he confessed to stealing Redmi 10 mobile from the pocket of a person in Itwari Bazaar Raigarh on the morning of 5th November and 2 Told him to throw away the SIM card and hide the stolen mobile in his house. In relation to the stolen Redmi 10 mobile, the Inspector in Police Station Kotwali. 778/2023 Section 379 IPC was registered. Kotwali Police and Cyber Cell team took the suspect to his rented house in Kirori Mal Nagar and raided him. Where apart from the stolen Redmi 10 mobile, 18 more mobiles of different companies including OnePlus, Redmi, Realme, Narjo One, Samsung, Vivo company’s mobiles were found. On questioning the suspect Ajay Rai regarding other mobile phones, Ajay Rai started giving roundabout answers. Kotwali staff gave notice to Ajay Rai and demanded the documents of his mobile. Ajay Rai did not mention the documents of new expensive mobiles. Redmi-10 mobile recovered from the suspect was seized in police station crime number 778/2023 section 379 IPC and the remaining 18 mobiles were seized by taking action under section 102 CrPC. The market value of total 19 mobile phones seized from the accused is around Rs 2 lakh 46,000.
