Monsoon session of Jharkhand Assembly, BJP MLAs protest on law and order

Ranchi (IANS). As soon as the monsoon session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly began on Friday, the BJP fiercely attacked the Hemant Soren government on the question of law and order. Even before the proceedings of the session began, the BJP MLAs demonstrated at the main gate of the House with placards. They were demanding a CBI inquiry into the murder of CPI(M) leader Subhash Munda. They raised slogans against the recent incidents of atrocities and attacks on tribals.

BJP MLAs Anant Ojha, Raj Sinha, Amar Bauri, Aparna Sen Gupta and JP Patel along with other MLAs said in one voice that the security system in Jharkhand has collapsed. The morale of criminals has increased. Biranchi Narayan, chief whip of the BJP Legislature Party, said that the CM describes himself as a well wisher of the tribals, but only tribals and Dalits are not safe during his rule. CPM leader Subhash Munda was assassinated in the capital. There was a murderous attack on AJSU leader Ajay Munda.

MLA Amar Kumar Bauri said that in Giridih a Dalit woman was stripped naked, beaten and kept tied to a tree at night. Jharkhand is ashamed of such incidents, but the government is relaxed. Such a government should immediately relinquish power and apologize to the public.

Here the proceedings of the first day in the House were adjourned with condolence. The House expressed grief over the demise of eminent personalities from various fields including former Education Minister Jagarnath Mahato, former MLA David Murmu. Several legislators expressed concern over the incidents of violence and brutality against tribal women in Manipur during the Shok Prakash. This session of the Vidhan Sabha will continue till August 4.
