Moong Dal (without skin) – 3/4 cup
Gram flour – 1 tbsp
Curd – 2 tbsp
Sesame seeds – 1/2 tsp
Coconut grated – 1 tbsp
Rai – 1/2 tsp
Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
Sugar – 1.5 tsp
Green chili – 2-3
Green coriander – 2 tbsp
Oil – 2 tbsp
Fruit salt – 1.5 tsp

To make moong dal dhokla, first take unpeeled (yellow) moong dal and soak it in water overnight. In the morning add soaked moong dal and green chillies along with some water in the mixer. Grind them and prepare a thick paste. Now take out this paste in a big bowl and add sugar, asafoetida, gram flour, curd and mix them all well. After this add fruit salt, turmeric and a little oil as per taste to this mixture and mix it well.
Now take a tray or plate and apply ghee or oil on it properly. After this, pour the solution in a plate and spread it well and keep the plate in a steamer and let it cook for 10-15 minutes. When the dhokla is cooked, take it out and keep it aside.
Now take a small nonstick pan and heat some oil in it. When the oil becomes hot, add mustard seeds and crackle them. After this add sesame seeds and asafoetida and fry for some time on medium flame. Fry finely chopped green chilies in it and spread the prepared tempering evenly over the dhokla. Now spread finely chopped coriander leaves and grated coconut on the dhokla. Now cut the dhokla into pieces and serve with green chutney.
