More than Rs 55 lakh cash seized from car, 6 detained
Binika: Binika police of Subarnapur district late Friday night seized cash worth Rs 55.20 lakh in a car being taken to Andhra Pradesh. The police have also seized the car. The people in the car have been taken into custody by the police.

According to reports, on Friday night, when the Binika police was conducting vehicle checking near Binika College Chowk on the Dunguripalli-Sonepur main road, they received information from reliable sources that a huge amount of cash was being carried in a silver colored car. . On reaching the checkpoint, the police stopped the car and searched it. During the search, a huge amount of cash was recovered from the car.
Subarnapur SP Yashpratap Shrimal told reporters that since the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) is in place in view of the upcoming elections, no person can carry large amounts of cash. Shrimal said that the seized cash has been handed over to the Income Tax Department and it will investigate and take appropriate action.
