MP: Government revenue is declining; only 40% of the target has been collected in the last six months.

Madhya Pradesh: The state government’s expenditure is increasing, but its revenue is declining. This has emerged from an initial review of the state’s financial condition conducted before the budget.
The Finance Department has begun preparing the budget for the next fiscal year. As part of this process, the state’s financial situation is also being reviewed. The review indicates that the government’s financial health is not good. Due to a decrease in government revenue and a reduction in grants from the central government, the state may face significant financial challenges in the coming days.
Compared to the previous year, expenditure in the first six months of the budget period has increased by 15%. On the other hand, the government’s revenue has decreased due to lower tax collections and a reduction in central government grants.
